About
A letter from the founder.
Check Back Tonight began with a simple wish: that the people I love would know I made it back, without me making a big deal of it.
I'm a dad, and I spend a lot of time outside, often alone in the Rocky Mountains. Those trips clear my head. They also make an ordinary question real: if I don't make it back when I said I would, would anyone notice in time?
I didn't want a tracker following me around, and I didn't want to worry my family every time I went out. I just wanted a quiet way to say "here is when I should be home," and a promise that if I couldn't check back, the right people would hear about it.
That's all Check Back Tonight is. You set a time, you head out, and you check in with one tap when you're home. If you can't, we let the people you chose know. It's for the walk, the date, the late shift, the solo trip, and every ordinary night that's almost always fine.
I built it to protect the people I love without hovering over them, and I hope it does the same for you.
Alvin
